Kelly worked for most of the day. Errands took up much of her evening.

Paul spent the morning troubleshooting his cellular hotspot and, once solved, spent the afternoon catching up on bills, e-mails, Reddit, and phone calls.

Ranger has been getting rigorous exercise retrieving his favorite boat toy from the lake down the hill from our campsite. The remainder of his time is spent sleeping on or under the picnic table while Kelly works.

Special New Hell: Ranger LOVES playing fetch in the lake. He often stares longingly down the wooden steps leading to the water behind our site. Once sufficiently tired he starts bringing the toy to the bottom of the stairs rather than to either of us. This means he’s ready to be dried off. We brought dog towels. Ranger likes dog towels… A LOT. Now a good toweling doesn’t even come close to removing the cups of sand embedded in the fur of a golden retriever. Inevitably, this ends up in our beds. It has been a sometimes daily task to dump the patch of sandy beach from the middle of our beds before sleep.

  1. Who doesn’t love a good toweling? Never met a dog who didn’t 🙂

Keep in mind, he’s just “sharing the love” with you and trying to give you some of his sand. LOL
